Hooray for blogging and the indelible recording for posterity of conversations such as these:
On January 13, Stephan and I went snowshoeing with my dad near Mt St Helens. Dad mentioned that in searching for an appropriate Bible verse to commemorate the occasion, he had found a recent translation that read “I lift my eyes to the mountains…” instead of the traditional “I lift mine eyes to the hills…” No sooner did I express my shock that he had been reading a version other than the 1611 King James than Stephan blurted, “Because if it was good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me!”
And I have been dying ever since to tell you.
