And then to the zoo! With Stephan and Tony! It was a lot more exciting than evidenced by the photos, because I don’t waste my time with pictures through plexiglass or cages anymore, which seriously limited my photographic opportunities. We did see every animal (except for the butterflies), but we skipped the elephant museum (but not the elephants) because I’m an adult now and I’m in charge of not having to go to boring exhibits anymore.
I told Stephan he didn’t have to go to the zoo again at all until there are children to entertain, which he thinks is an excellent idea since it was almost $10 each to get in and none of the animals were any cuter than Simon.
Look familiar?

Stephan does keep Simon’s nails a bit shorter than this sun bear’s.

A wee and adorable sleeping otter.

A not-so-wee, -adorable, or -sleeping hippopotamus. More like Spencer, though, in that it’s so massive that you can’t even see the other hippo lounging behind it.

A rare photo of a nesting bald eagle.

i like stephan’s “new to me” style!
Me too! I forgot that you haven’t seen him in a while.
ps. we bought his shoes with a wedding gift card that we couldn’t find anything else to buy with.
1) I can’t believe no one pretended to be either a hippopotamus or a rhinoceros.
2) Even though I strongly discourage my clients from drinking Capri Sun, I find it amusing that the sunning bear appears to have thoroughly enjoyed it.
1. But Stephan was a bald eagle! He tried to gouge some people’s eyes out with his beak or perhaps talons!
2. If by “thoroughly enjoyed it,” you mean “slipped into a sugar coma.”
