Stephan and I are all about the compromising. That may not be true: we’re mostly all about trading favors. We have nearly successfully traded Stephan remembering to drop the pull-up-for-shower thingy after a shower for me remembering to leave the lights on and the emergency brake off after driving the car.
In the next swap, Stephan will be pronouncing “ruin” with two syllables, but he has not yet decided what he will require in trade. My breath, it is bated.

I want to hear him say it his way before you make him change it.
I probably should have looked at this before I parked your car – I believe I used the emergency brake. Shame on me.
i don’t get the whole “lights on and the emergency brake off” thing?
Matt: It sounds like “rune.” Which, as you may know, is an entirely different word.
Tony: That’s okay; I forgive you. Stephan, however, may require yet another expensive gift.
Nalani: I always, always turn the lights off and put the emergency brake on when I’m done driving the car. Stephan doesn’t like this, and he’s the primary driver now, so I guess we’re doing things his way. :)
What, like another simpsons game?
