Stephan Drives Fast

So there Stephan was, minding his own business, driving me and me mum to the Lake District last weekend. We had just had a conversation about some of the differences in driving here; for example, you’ll never believe it, but they actually drive on the left side of the road. Also, they don’t have patrol cars monitoring your every indiscretion; instead they paint some parallel lines down your lane and use a camera to measure how long it takes you to get from one side to the other. If you go fast enough, you see a flash as your picture is taken, a ticket arrives at your house, and 3 points get added to your license (12 points gets it revoked).

So there the aforementioned Stephan was, minding his own business, doing 80 on the motorway, when me aforementioned mum decided to record the moment for posterity. Let me tell you, Internets, the look on his face as his heart presumably stopped and he gravely asked, “what was that flash?”: one for the record books. Unfortunately, the reaction was not captured on film, but here is the next photo in the Stephan Drives Fast series:

It’s okay: everybody does it and/or I’m sure he was just passing someone.
